About The Instructor

Lisa Ring Ronis received a B.M. degree in classical guitar performance from the University of Redlands in 1980. From 1980 to 1982 she studied classical guitar with Manuel Lopez Ramos in Mexico City. It was in graduate school in Tucson, Arizona that Lisa decided to specialize in teaching classical guitar to children. At that time the Suzuki guitar school was still at the embryo stage. After graduating from the University of Arizona in 1985 with a Masters of Music Degree in guitar performance, Lisa started the children's guitar program at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Community School of Music. In 1987 she attended her first Suzuki institute and was completely sold on the philosophy. Since then her students with the help of their parents have continued to exceed all of her expectations.

Lisa has taught classical guitar and related courses at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Southern Arkansas University and at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
Lisa has moved her program from UALR to a private studio and continues to offer quality instruction on the areas of classical and folk guitar. She is also the Suzuki guitar instructor for the Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church Adventures in the Arts Music Program and performs regularly in Little Rock.

Lisa Ronis and the Adventures in the Arts is affiliated with the Suzuki Association of Central Arkansas (SACA). The majority of students who study with the instructor, Lisa R. Ronis are enrolled as Suzuki Guitar students. However, to accommodate the needs of the Little Rock community, Ronis Classical Guitar School also offers private instruction in classical guitar to students ages 14 though adult, beginning through advanced levels.
